The Geordies Pen
The Geordies Pen #1

Made from high-end black European stock (PMMA) with Conway Stewart Red and Aluminium.

Geordie's Pen #1 - To remember their hard work during the industrial revolution. From Coal, iron, furnaces, rolling mills, to the making of the first railways, shipbuilding. Sadly most of the work left to The Far East.

The colours are about coal, the blood and tears shed to eventually create the steel, rolling red hot out from the mills.

This pen is about 13.5cm long and ⌀15.8mm.

I'm planning to make two more. Get in contact if this one is sold and you want to order one.

This is made remember the hard work of the people in The North East during the industrial revolution. From Coal, iron, furnaces, rolling mills, to the making of the first railways, shipbuilding. Sadly most of the work left to The Far East.

It first of all reflects the colours of the Duke of Northumberland, but most people see this and think 'footbal!'. Yet these are actually ancient colours of the Northumberland Tartan (it is also known as a shepherds tartan), I added a sample. We have in the family, on my wife's side, an older version of this ancient shepherd tartan which is black and soft yellow. It was used to carry a lamb wrapped against the body. I have no idea when it changed to black/white.

Sunderland
Sunderland #1

Made from, believe it or not, milk changed to a polymer with Conway Steward Deep Red.

To remember hard work done in the North East during the industrial revolution. From Coal, iron, furnaces, rolling mills, to the making of the first railways, shipbuilding. Sadly most of the work left to The Far East. Sunderland was more and industrial port for coal and salt.

A lot has been invested to revive the city and now they are known for Nissan, Software development companies, and Art Centers to name a few. The Red White is football related (originally they were blue). But I wonder what inspired to choose red/white. It has a bit of a marine feel to it (the lighthouse colours white and red) and the city is after all also a seaport.

Casein is water sensitive, don't submerge or keep wet. Lightly cleaning with damp cloth is no issue.

This is about 13.5cm long and ⌀15.8mm.

Coal Miners Pen
Coal Miners Pen #2

Made from high-end black European stock (PMMA) and Conway Stewart Red. The end have a brass inlays.

This is to remember the Coal Miners who made the industrial revolution possible with their blood and tears digging their way in the deep dark coal faces. It created finely knit communities of people helping each other under enormous hardship. The work costed many lives and they the wages were poor. By the time the safety, wages and living conditions improved, the Government made them all non-employed causing bloody protests. Even today communities are still suffering from the backlash in the eighties.

This is 14cm long and ⌀15.8mm.

Made from high end quality stock, I can this with sizes 13.5mm (elegant) and ⌀15.5mm or ⌀15.8 (sturdy)

I'm planning to make two more. Get in contact if this one is sold and you want to order one.
